Cystic Acne Treatment Solutions
73What is cystic acne?
A cyst is a very, very severe type of acne, which results from nodules being filled with bacteria, dead skin, and blood. As you already know, cysts can be, and are, very painful and by their very nature they damage skin tissue. This can result in severe scarring, so it is wise to treat any cyst that you have as soon as possible.
How does acne turn into a cyst?
Acne is the result of a mixture of things such as pores that are clogged with dead skin and dirt combined with an overproduction of natural oil. This creates an idea environment for acne causing bacteria to live a reproduce, which create the bacterial infection known as acne. Once infection occurs, acne progresses in a series of stages. The first stage is caused by clogged pores and it shows it's self in the form of small, almost unnoticeable blackheads and whiteheads. While these little bumps seem innocent, they actually are not. This is because they contain all of the necessary ingredients to develop into the second stage of acne. This stage is caused by the small blackheads and whiteheads that went untreated, and it is characterized by nasty puss leaking pimples and zits, which are medically known as papules. If you are an acne sufferer then you have undoubtedly already had many occurrences of the second stage of acne, but it is the third stage that this article will focus on, which is called cystic acne. This third stag is caused by pimples and zits that are not treated, which then develop into even worse bacterial skin infections. Cystic acne is characterized by very large, swelled bumps, which extend deep into the skin. If untreated, this type of acne can cause severe and permanent scarring. In the following paragraph you will learn what you can do if you or someone you know if suffering from cystic acne.
Cystic acne treatment – time to see your doctor
Because cystic acne is the most severe type of acne it should be met with the most effective, extreme forms of treatments. These are not natural remedies for acne - these treatments are so extreme in fact, which you will not be able to administer them yourself, but rather you will need to make a trip to your doctor. Once you make the decision to see your doctor concerning your cystic acne you will be able to begin immediate treatment. The initial treatment may include oral and topical antibiotics. The next step that your doctor may take if this does not work may be a steroidal injection. Last, if the two previous treatment options do not work, your doctor may result to a very potent form of treatment known as isotretinoin, which is a very strong form of Vitamin A. This cystic acne treatment can help treat all the major reasons for cystic acne which include excess oil production, stopped up pores, and bacterial infection.
Possible side effects
If you do decide to undergo one or more of these treatment options you should know that there are possible side effects associated with each.
Oral antibiotics or broad-spectrum antibiotics have the least side effects associated with them. Some people may experience diarrhea, vomiting or upset stomach. I personally have experienced dizziness and lightheadedness while taking various forms of oral antibiotics. So, this is something you may want to talk with your doctor about, especially if you operate heavy equipment.
If you are a woman then it may be of interest to you that oral contraceptives can treat various forms of bacterial infection, including acne and cystic acne. This can mean that if you already are considering taking an oral contraceptive, you may be able to knock out two birds with one stone.
Steroidal injections have several side effects associated with them, the scope of which is beyond this article. I would recommend researching the topic, in-depth, before you decide to undergo steroidal injections. A great place to begin your research is WebMd.

Oral antibiotics are good. They will bring your cystic acne down but the scars will not be fade away. As I have this problem as well I do not really like doctors at all. After a 16 years of walking there. Doctors only dealing what they see on your skin, but are not boder about the inside. It is a well known rule that cystic acne is caused by hormones. So the only way to get the hormones down is buy a drugs called Roaccutane, but the scars remains. They can be treat by laser, but only if all the scars are dry. So if you have another infection going on , the laser cannot be used. So in my point of view is a neverending story. I do not have the money to treat my face and back with a laser either. It is very dear/ expensive and not ALWAYs with a good results.

My girlfriend is curently battling cystic pimples and went to see a naturalistic doctor who reccomended a very pure form of Vitamin-A supplement at a somewhat large dosage, taken along with vitamin D-3. Vitamin D-3 is known for keeping Vitamin A from building up to toxic levels in the body. So far she is very satisfied with the treatment and has experienced no side effects. She also takes a recomended high quality multi-vitamin reccomended by the doctor. The multi-vitamin was selected by the doctor baised on her diet (reccorded over one weeks time), is also of the purest form, a1nd fits to her diet meaning she's not overdoing any of the vitamins or minerals.
it cost her $150 for the initial doctor consultation
$50 for every consultation after that (requiring at least two)
$74 total for Vitamin A, Vitamin d-3, and multi-vitamin, 100 day supply of each. Thats $0.74 per day people.
getting past the initial $200 for consultations is the difficult part, But it works people it really works! I don't reccomend buying the vitamins off the shelf to do this. Get the stuff in the purest form without all the garbage in it and custom fitted to your diet.
Best of luck to you all!
I am an almost 26 year old female. I've been battling acne since I was 13 years old, and most recently (in the last 3 years) cystic acne. I have been on tetracycline (500 mg 2 x daily) for 3 months. It's gotten rid of my zits, but not my cysts. I'm using a prescription topical solution as well. I think Accutane may be my only resort for these cysts. I am going to the doctor today actually, to have my 3 month review. We'll see what happens.
I've suffored for yeaaars and Mary Kay is AWESOME. Start with their Acne treatment line and more on to Timewise or Botanicals. My skin has basically shed itself down to the base layer, all my cysts are going away and I can feel it getting down to where there are absolutely NO dead or infected layers on my skin. They have ONLY mineral makeup that in noncomedogenic (does not clog pores) and covers fantastically. Also 100% money back guarantee. But you wont need that, it's amazing. Try it! http://www.marykay.com/leah.branstetter/default.as
